Paper Cut Mansion
The first few hours of gameplay feel like they hold up to the visuals. Each procedurally generated level actually consists of three different dimensions that occupy the same physical space and are themed on parts of the human brain. The Neo Cortex is where you go to solve puzzles and is technically the safest of the zones, though occasionally the furniture will jump out to attack you. The Limbic System is a survival-based zone where you can find clues as to why Toby is trapped in the mansion while the cold air threatens to choke the life out of you. Finally, the Reptilian zone is where enemies spawn for you to fight.

Paper Cut Mansion is a procedurally generated rogue-lite horror, set within a mansion made entirely of cardboard. You take on the role of police detective Toby, in search of clues to explain the strange goings on and how he came to be in this paper-craft property. Paper Cut Mansion is a roguelite horror set in a unique handcrafted world made of cardboard coming to PC and console. Explore the titular mansion floor by floor, solving escape-room style puzzles, battling enemies and completing quests as you unlock new abilities to aid you on each run and seek to solve the mystery behind the mansion.
In Paper Cut Mansion you play as Toby, a police detective who awakens on the road leading to the eponymous old mansion. You will put those detective skills to the test as you seek to unravel the story behind this bizarre place, with each run giving you the opportunity to collect another piece of evidence to be tacked on the Evidence Board. The intriguing cast of characters you will meet as you explore may help or hinder you: some will offer quests that can earn you helpful rewards, some will try to hide and some are out to get you.
On each floor of the mansion, you'll find portals to the different dimensions. Each dimension has one portal per floor, and you can freely pass between them as long as you can reach the appropriate portal in one piece. The purple portal leads to the Neocortex, the red portal leads to the Reptilian Complex, and the blue portal leads to the Limbic System.
Your very first game will always start in the Neocortex. This dimension is focused on exploration and puzzle-solving, but it has plenty of dangers lurking throughout. In the Neocortex, you can inspect furniture scattered throughout the mansion. Rotating objects will often reveal coins, making the Neocortex the best place to build up some cash.
Visiting the Limbic System is a treasure hunt - NPCs will often send you here to find dropped items, and this is the only dimension where you can find Evidence to unravel the mystery of the mansion.

When I walked on the opening path up to the mansion whereby this whole game takes place within and I was treated to the opening musical number accompanying the title card which took me by complete surprise and it was a really good way of starting the experience.
Now, once you open a few doors and explore some of the mansion, you find a few different dimensions are waiting for you and to progress anywhere you have to meet the demands of the NPCs. This is where combat comes in, and a fairly fun arsenal of weapons is waiting for you. In keeping with the spooky denizens of Paper Cut Mansion, the enemies are all zombies, skeletons, and other undead creatures, shambling through the many rooms and just aching to fold you up.

As you explore the maze-like mansion, the story unfolds, becoming so much more than a horror-themed puzzler. The story is interesting and worth the frustration of the occasional total restart and endless walking in circles to find a clue to open the next locked door.

Paper Cut Manion is a horror rogue-like mystery game. Playing as Toby, a police detective, you need to explore a mansion a floor at a time, with each run providing you with more evidence as you seek to solve the mystery behind it.
The concept behind this game is quite simple. They made a rogue-like game, set that game in a mansion. That mansion and the entire world are then crafted out of paper and made essentially into one big escape room. This may seem simple, and the idea is. The game however is not simple, and I mean that in the best way possible.
When I first entered the mansion I was greeted by a skeleton and a butterfly. It was explained to me that the butterfly would, land on walls in rooms where something important was and I should search that room. I should search for clues on how to solve the puzzles and get out and a talking door at the end of a hallway could help me. Something the skeleton had never managed to do.
This led me on a quest to discover, there are multiple dimensions to this mansion. The main place I had started in that I was free to search with little danger, a place that was cold and I could freeze to death and another that held enemies I could fight in various ways. Each of these sections is connected however if you unlock a door in one it unlocks all of them.
Players will follow a character named Toby who is a police detective. He is awakened on a road that leads to a creepy old mansion, where players will use detective skills to find out what is the story behind the mansion. Each piece that you find in the mansion will be stored on a board known as Evidence Board.
Paper Cut Mansion casts you as Toby, a police detective who arrives at the titular mansion to explore its mysteries. To escape, you will need to explore the mansion floor by floor solving puzzles and completing tasks for its many creepy inhabitants.
When you enter the mansion you will find yourself in the NeoCortex dimension; a homage to a classic gaming villain perhaps? From here you can also travel to two alternative dimensions where the gameplay is changed up. The Reptilian dimension sees the mansion in flames and you must fight against hordes of monsters using any weapon available to get out in one piece.
The Limbic dimension is colder and easier to explore, but if you stay too far away from heat sources, the cold will damage you. This change up for each dimension keeps gameplay fresh as different tasks from the various NPCs will need you to explore all through the mansion and its various dimensions.
Paper Cut Mansion stands out from the crowd with its papercraft style graphics, the closest comparison would be the PS Vita classic Tearaway. Everything from the walls to the furniture and even the characters themselves look to be made of paper and card, with the isometric camera giving the feeling of looking into a shoebox room.
